The renowned Albanian poet, scholar, and publisher dr. Mujë Buçpapaj has been honored by the international platform Barcelona Adabia in Spain, being selected as one of the “100 Most Influential Literary Figures in the World for 2025.”
This distinction, presented by the Barcelona Literary Review, places Dr. Buçpapaj among the most prominent literary personalities whose contributions have significantly shaped global culture and literature throughout the year 2025.
The official award ceremony will take place on December 25, 2025, in Barcelona.

Brief Profile of the Author
Mujë Buçpapaj was born in Tropoja in 1962. He graduated in Albanian Language and Literature at the University of Tirana in 1986, followed by two years of specialized studies in film scriptwriting at Kinostudio “Shqipëria e Re” (today Albfilm), considered advanced postgraduate training.
He holds the title Doctor of Literary Sciences, with a significant dissertation on the continuity of Albanian poetry under communist censorship.
Buçpapaj is among the founders of political pluralism and the free press in Albania, having co-founded and served as a journalist for Rilindja Demokratike (1991–2005) and later founding Tribuna Demokratike.
He has directed several major cultural institutions, including the International Cultural Center (2005–2009) and the Albanian Copyright Office (2010–2014).
Since 2014 he has led Nacional Publishing and the cultural newspaper Nacional.
He is also currently a lecturer at a university in Tirana.

Buçpapaj is widely regarded as one of the most significant voices in contemporary Albanian poetry and one of the most influential cultural policy leaders in the country.
