MBAHET NË TIRANË AKADEMIA PËRKUJTIMORE: “AVDI REXHA, SIÇ E KEMI NJOHUR – MISIONARI I MALËSISË SË GJAKOVËS”
Tiranë, 31 maj 2025 – Në një atmosferë përplot ndjenjë mirënjohjeje dhe respekti të thellë, në ambientet e Hotel International në Tiranë u mbajt akademia përkujtimore me temë: “Avdi Rexha, siç e kemi njohur – Misionari i Malësisë së Gjakovës”. Veprimtaria u organizua nga Komiteti i Pajtimit Mbarëkombëtar dhe Asambleja Kombëtare e Misionarëve të Pajtimit, me rastin e 100-vjetorit të lindjes së këtij misionari të shquar të paqes dhe pajtimit mes shqiptarëve.
Në këtë aktivitet morën pjesë anëtarë të Asamblesë Kombëtare të Pajtimit, familjarë, miq dhe dashamirë të Avdi Rexhës nga Malësia e Gjakovës, Kosova, Shqipëria, Mali i Zi dhe Maqedonia e Veriut. Ndër të pranishmit kishte intelektualë, artistë dhe personalitete të jetës publike, që vlerësojnë kontributin e pazëvendësueshëm të Avdi Rexhës për paqen dhe bashkimin kombëtar.
Një nga momentet më të veçanta të akademisë ishte shfaqja e dokumentarit kushtuar jetës dhe veprës së Avdi Rexhës, i përgatitur nga regjisori dhe skenaristi i njohur i RTSH-së, Tom Therçaj. Dokumentari u realizua me përkushtim dhe profesionalizëm në bashkëpunim me bijën e Avdi Rexhës, znj. Bujana Malaj, dhe paraqiti me ndjeshmëri dhe saktësi rrugëtimin jetësor të këtij misionari të shenjtë të pajtimit. Dokumentari është një dëshmi e çmuar e veprimtarisë së Avdi Rexhës ndër vite në fushën e pajtimit, por njëkohësisht edhe një frymëzim për brezat e ardhshëm që të ndjekin rrugën kombëtare të dashurisë për atdheun, kombin dhe njerëzit e vet. Ai përcjell mesazhin se pajtimi dhe zgjidhja e konflikteve duhet të bëhen me durim, përmbajtje dhe në mënyrë paqësore. “Vetëm kombet e paqta janë kombe të forta dhe kanë të ardhme,” theksonte Avdi Rexha, prandaj porosia e tij e përhershme ishte:
“Në vend të luftës dhe konfliktit, të zgjedhim paqen dhe mirëkuptimin mes shqiptarëve.”
Ky mesazh kumbon fuqishëm edhe në dokumentarin e përgatitur dhe realizuar me mjeshtëri nga regjisori i njohur Tom Therçaj, i cili me këtë vepër ka përjetësuar një nga figurat më të ndritura të pajtimit kombëtar.
Në fjalën përshëndetëse, z. Gjin Marki në emër të Komitetit të Pajtimit Mbarëkombëtar dhe Asamblesë Kombëtare të Pajtimit, i dorëzoi znj. Bujana Malaj dekoratën “Akademik i Pajtimit”, si një shenjë mirënjohjeje për kontributin jetësor të Avdi Rexhës në pajtimin e dhjetëra konflikteve dhe shuarjen e gjakmarrjes në Malësi e më gjerë.
Komiteti i Pajtimit Mbarëkombëtar dhe Asambleja Kombëtare e Pajtimit, të drejtuara me kompetencë dhe përkushtim nga z. Gjin Marku, janë sot institucione të konsoliduara të pajtimit, me një rol kyç në promovimin e paqes, mirëkuptimit dhe vlerave kombëtare në shoqërinë shqiptare.
Veprimtaria u moderua me mjeshtëri nga gazetari dhe veprimtari i njohur shoqëror Defrim Methasani. Gjithashtu, u shoqërua nga interpretimet artistike të vajzave të Tropojës, si dhe nga këngëtarët e njohur Lekë Pepnikaj dhe Arbën Gjeloshi, të cilët sollën në skenë këngë që nderuan figurën e Avdi Rexhës dhe traditën e Malësisë së Gjakovës.
Në fund, znj. Bujana Malaj, vajza e Avdi Rexhës (Malaj), e cila ndjek me përkushtim rrugën dhe misionin e të atit, falënderoi të pranishmit për nderin që i bënë babait të saj dhe Malësisë së Gjakovës. Ajo shprehu mirënjohjen për autorin e dokumentarit dhe artistët pjesëmarrës, duke theksuar se:
“Malësia e Gjakovës është trevë burrash të mençur dhe luftëtarë të fortë si guri, që ndër shekuj kanë luftuar për liri, pavarësi dhe bashkim kombëtar. Kjo trevë ka nxjerrë figura të shquara, si Binak Alia – juristi me përmasa ndërkombëtare – dhe shumë të tjerë, mes tyre edhe babai im, Avdi Rexha(Malaj). Rruga e tij vazhdon me mua dhe me brezat e rinj të Tropojës. Historia nuk ndalet – Malësia është gjithmonë në ballë!”

COMMEMORATIVE ACADEMY HELD IN TIRANA: “AVDI REXHA, AS WE KNEW HIM – THE MISSIONARY OF THE HIGHLANDS OF GJAKOVA”
Tirana, May 31, 2025 – In an atmosphere filled with gratitude and deep respect, a commemorative academy was held at the Hotel International in Tirana with the theme: “Avdi Rexha, As We Knew Him – The Missionary of the Highlands of Gjakova.”
The event was organized by the National Reconciliation Committee and the National Assembly of Reconciliation Missionaries, marking the 100th anniversary of the birth of this distinguished missionary of peace and reconciliation among Albanians.
Participants included members of the National Assembly of Reconciliation, family members, friends, and admirers of Avdi Rexha from the Highlands of Gjakova, Kosovo, Albania, Montenegro, and North Macedonia. Among those present were intellectuals, artists, and public figures who highly value the irreplaceable contribution of Avdi Rexha (Malaj)to peace and national unity.
One of the most special moments of the academy was the screening of a documentary dedicated to the life and work of Avdi Rexha, prepared by the renowned RTSH director and screenwriter Tom Therçaj. The documentary was created with dedication and professionalism in collaboration with Avdi Rexha’s daughter, Mrs. Bujana Malaj, and it portrayed with sensitivity and accuracy the life journey of this revered missionary of reconciliation. The documentary stands as a valuable testimony to Avdi Rexha’s decades-long efforts in the field of reconciliation, while also serving as an inspiration for future generations to follow the national path of love for homeland, nation, and people. It conveys the message that reconciliation and conflict resolution should be pursued with patience, self-restraint, and peaceful means.
“Only peaceful nations are strong nations and have a future,” emphasized Avdi Rexha, whose enduring message was:
“Instead of war and conflict, let us choose peace and understanding among Albanians.”
This message strongly resonates in the documentary, masterfully produced and directed by Tom Therçaj, who, through this work, has immortalized one of the brightest figures of national reconciliation.
In his opening address, Mr. Gjin Marku, on behalf of the National Reconciliation Committee and the National Assembly of Reconciliation, presented the “Academic of Reconciliation” medal to Mrs. Bujana Malaj, as a token of gratitude for Avdi Rexha’s lifelong contribution in resolving dozens of conflicts and eradicating blood feuds in the Highlands and beyond.
The National Reconciliation Committee and the National Assembly of Reconciliation, led with competence and dedication by Mr. Gjon Gjomarkaj, are now consolidated institutions of reconciliation, playing a key role in promoting peace, mutual understanding, and national values in Albanian society.
The event was skillfully moderated by the well-known journalist and social activist Defrim Methasani. It was also enriched with artistic performances by girls from Tropoja and renowned singers Lekë Pepnikaj and Arbën Gjeloshi, who performed songs honoring the legacy of Avdi Rexha and the traditions of the Highlands of Gjakova.
In conclusion, Mrs. Bujana Malaj, daughter of Avdi Rexha, who continues her father’s mission with dedication, thanked the attendees for honoring her father and the Highlands of Gjakova. She expressed her appreciation to the documentary’s author and the participating artists, emphasizing:
“The Highlands of Gjakova is a land of wise men and warriors as strong as stone, who throughout the centuries have fought for freedom, independence, and national unity. This region has produced prominent figures such as Binak Alia – a jurist of international stature – and many others, among them my father, Avdi Rexha. His path continues through me and the new generations of Tropoja. History does not stop – the Highlands are always at the forefront!”
